Non-meat foods prepared with meat-derived ingredients, such as potatoes cooked in bone broth. There is considerable debate over whether tavshil is a permissible food category on days when meat is forbidden, centering around whether the presence of actual flesh is forbidden rather than the flavor or essence of meat.
