Mordekhai ben Hillel HaKohen, b. 1250, d. 1298. German posek and authoritative commentator on the Talmud. His great work of halakha, often called Sefer HaMordekhai, was a major source for Yosef Caro’s Sulḥan Aruk, and to this day is often printed as an appendix to the Talmud.
